3 Mistakes to Avoid When Trying To Get Six Pack Abs

There must be a reason why some people have six pack abs and others don't. When you go to the beach, you see people with them. When you watch a movie, you see actors with them. When you are at the gym, you see people with them. What do actors and fit people at the gym do different than everyone else?
Are you making these 3 mistakes when trying to get sexy flat abs?
Mistake 1 - Large portion sizes. Do you stuff your face at the dinner table? Or maybe at the local buffet? Buffets should always be avoided when you are trying to achieve a healthy weight and six pack abs. One of the biggest mistakes people make that are trying to get to a healthy weight is over eating.
What to do instead: Control your portion sizes. Over-eating leads to being overweight especially at dinner time. Any portion of food should not be any bigger than your fist.
Calories, calories, calories. Pay attention to how many calories are going into your mouth. Never eat while watching television. When you watch television and eat, you are not paying attention to what you are eating, you are paying attention to your favorite show. Watching your favorite show is fine, just do it without the food in the picture.
You are not depriving yourself when you are eating portion sizes. You are taking care of your health.
Mistake 2 - Lack of exercise. To maintain a healthy weight you must burn more calories than you take in. A sedentary lifestyle will not equate to sexy six pack abs.
What to do instead: Exercise at least 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Make sure to get your heart rate up to get your body into fat burn mode.
Get up, get out and have fun. Some people will say I don't exercise because it is boring. Make it fun. Do something crazy like rock climbing, white water rafting, or mountain biking. Of course everyone can't do those, do something that is appropriate for your fitness level. Never try anything that your body won't allow. Remember, you don't always have to go to the gym to exercise.
Mistake 3 - Not drinking enough water. Do you drink 3-6 carbonated sodas a day? Your body is made up of approximately 70% water. When you sweat and don't replenish that lost water you are depriving your body of essential nutrients. Carbonated soda will not provide them.
What to do instead: Drink 6 - 8 glasses of water per day. Water has no calories in it. You can't say the same about carbonated sodas.
A 12-ounce can of soda contains of around 150 calories. A 20-ounce bottle of soda contains around 250 calories. If you drink a couple sodas per day, you are consuming a good chunk of your daily caloric intake just in liquids, not even food.
For someone that is on a 2,000 calorie diet, drinking a two or three 20-ounce sodas doesn't leave a lot of calories for food.
The reality of six pack abs is an achievable goal. But if you make the 3 mistakes mentioned you will have a lot of trouble getting them. Don't be discouraged you can do it. You have the power to make a positive change with your body and health.
